Member-only story
I read other writers, pair, and blend. Ryan Frawley says The horror of existence: life feeds on life. I resist following his trajectory into hunting for food and pleasure and the many ways I look the other way. I use the phrase, CardSwipe. My initial Pairing List:
Roiling nausea, cracking bones, wailing
Sideways slippage, blunt force, suffocation
I visualize grounding in tap dancing, clogging, and Flamenco stamp, pairing with whatever music comes through Pandora. Next, I pair with physical visuals:
Roller Coaster
Canoe Rider
Skater
KiteSurfer
Trekker
For example, roiling nausea equates with the whip and plunge of a roller coaster, and cracking bones can be the fracture of water and sunshine on a plunging river; skaters wail the chute, kite surfers slide into the ether, and trekkers embrace weather and terrain in many forms. My resistance opens, and I dance a blend of storylines so my Writer has more data to select from when shaping the narrative.
I sink deeper into CardSwipe habits, accumulating beige cliches that deaden a Writer.
