Being Cool generally means being calm, composed, and not easily flustered, often displaying a sense of self-control and a relaxed attitude, even in challenging situations; it can also imply having a stylish or admired appearance or demeanor that others find appealing. My Inner Cool Guy grooved through the Young Adult Years but has had it rough this past few decades, beginning when Fear refused prolonged suppression and Exposed & Vulnerable were required to Step Up.
This week, I wrapped the first novel of an American Trilogy centering on an Inner Trek Theme, and I felt nostalgic for Cool Guy. I like his style; it is smooth and easy to use under pressure. However, when I opened his File, I discovered he had developed a close alliance with Sneaky, the Inner Conman Boss.
Sneaky is skilled at CoverUp (aka covert op) from all angles. I recently acknowledged him as a legitimate Persona, and I noticed the many Personas he had under his guidance. For example, he supplies DisAssociate with WhiteWash to paint blank impressions, and all the Border Guards are susceptible to bribes. Not only was Cool Guy out of shape when he met me at the Command Center, but his confident demeanor seemed faintly glassy, and I could feel Sneaky monitoring him from inside like a puppet.
