Fun & Pleasure: Those Crazy Twins

I’ve heard many tales about Fun over the years, and have practiced various methods of following and joining his frolicking and adventurous company. Still, I never could figure out how to sustain the foreign diet. No matter what, I reverted to my Soldier Release Missions into Danger Fields and Dark Territories. Even my bar time wasn’t about unloading stress, kicking back, and having fun with friends, but a time of inner reflection and note gathering, which I regard as “fun.’ It’s not the same category, though, as claimed by official Fun Enthusiasts.

As I’ve gotten older, I’ve wrestled with Resentment, learning his many moves for feeling excluded and overlooked. I perceived Fun as a Banned From Social Order Reminder, and Boy Soldier whistled in the Troops to defend against an onslaught of Incoming Perceived Threat.

I gathered Chant Singers to pump Signs, Voice Anger, and Outrage: “Expand your Horizons!”
“You call yourself Fun? You’re just limited! What’s fun in that?”
“When’s the last time you signed up for a Danger Field or Dark Territory Release Trek?”

I didn’t know that Fun has a cousin, Pleasure, until recently. I held a Family System Hand designed to hide Dark Secrets, with pleasure long-buried, terribly twisted with Toxic HyperArousal — time for new cards!
