Hacking Point & Blame Habits

My first major Inner Hacking Trek pitted me against habitual defensiveness. First, I had to hear the defensive tones I used when I denied being defensive—developing the strength to admit defensiveness required endless repetition, scooping & dumping judgment. Then the process began, accessing accurate muscle organization readout to feel how my body expressed and held onto defensive posturing. Justification, a powerful persona, told me time after time the many reasons I had to be defensive. Mainly for protection, he assured me, and it took a long time before I could question his reasoning and develop habits of defensive clearing and release.

Then I got reports of a Point & Blame syndicate operating way undercover. I learned that the ruse of helping others frequently provided an opportunity to point out their flaws, and then I earned superior points for saving them from themselves. I prided myself on not blaming others for my problems, and for the most part, I caught my efforts to hide this habit. But, helping others? How does that become Point & Blame?

I sent my Journalist persona on a mission to get the unvarnished truth. He returned with proof that offering others help often created displacement. I saw their inadequacies, and instead of turning the perception around for self-reflection, I abandoned myself and excitedly enabled them to overcome their difficulties.

Finally, I became familiar with the tone of voice, the excitability, and the fix-rush involved in kicking myself to the curb. Before I offered help…
