Life Is A Movement Sequence

Walk across the room,, and complete a movement sequence. Your feet push against the floor, sending signals up through the legs to the pelvic bowl; to the soles, calves, knees, and thighs, a dance sequence that once was, when I was a baby, a miraculous discovery. I’ve encountered mishaps along the way, which has compromised my walk. I’ve discovered there is no right way to walk; there are many different walks.

For example, when my knees first stiffened, I ignored the signs until my legs went on strike and I remembered to rebuild the walk sequence from the ground up. Feel the soles, the push-down, send colored signals up through the legs to the Pelvic Bowl, where super life happens. Then, I had to slow my Walk Sequence down until I figured out where the signals pinged off track.

Everyday life is an ongoing movement sequence, an endless dance of tasks accomplished, workouts, yoga classes, and races run. Time to acknowledge your magnificent back muscles, the Lats lifting from the top of the Pelvic Bowl underneath the Scapular Blades, flaring out like stingray wings to connect to the armpits. Some people perceive their back like a cobra hood, a kite filled with wind, or a conductor raising their arms for a moment of musical silence.

Pause before you walk across the room to pick up your phone. Visualize your soles lighting with color. Push down, sending signals upwards through your legs. Select a story to your liking and visualize your legs taking action, supporting your back to either welcome love or fight.
