Old Man and Young Lad meet in the Persona BoardRoom to discuss the long-standing issue of Money Lack, an ancient belief holding me back from accessing inner joy and spirit release. It’s come time to go deeper.

“Work hard, scrimp, and save,” Old Man says, “This is the foundation of Money Success.”

Young Lad bends over his picture-making with colored pens. Turning the drawing, he waits for Old Man to respond.

“Working hard has been like pulling a wheeled cart up and down mountains, over rutted pathways, and through soggy bogs,” he replies speculatively. “Sometimes the load is heavy, and other times I trot along without a care in the world except enjoying the moment.”

Young Lad applies his vigorous pen work and again turns the page for viewing.

“Yes, scrimping is an interesting word,” Old Man laughs, scanning his mental pictures for a visual. “You know when you sit on a beach, pick out the prettiest rocks, and prevent them from returning to the sea? Scrimping is about sacrificing sharing and abundance for the greater good.”

Young Lad draws a picture of pretty rocks returning to the sea, accompanied by a chorus of orcas, their sleek black and white mouths opening in harmony. “Scrimp and expand, scrimp and expand,” they chant in their wonderous language of pulsed calls and whistles as they leap and return from the sparkling blue waters.

Old Man puts that drawing on the refrigerator with colored circle magnets. “Do you think the act of saving is linked to a feeling of lack?” he muses aloud, staring down at Young Lad’s head as he dances his pens on the page. The next drawing shows old men turning to pass packages to young people before walking through the doorway to the other side and the young people opening them.
