I’m Old Man Writer. I entered the Family Narrative in 1955, born into a Socially Pre-Declared Dysfunctional Family Identification Zone. There were no therapies; women were barely second-class citizens; men embraced Power Lockdown at the expense of violence and suppression, and I, like all others, adjusted and Kept Going.
As a young person, schooling triggered a Negative Response, and I navigated around the explosions, instinctively strengthening my Reporter and Journalist skills. Reporters hunt down the facts, and Journalists dig into the dirt. Sports introduced me to discipline, repetition training, and production, while theatre and music brought me up to speed on creative narrative and musical scoring.
Along the way, I made decisions about relationships, careers, and, most importantly, securing financial security I could depend on until my dying days. Now, it’s time for Narrative Rewilding as I enter the Old Man Writer Zone, a territory, country, a precious lifetime like a splendid theatre where I go to data blend with others through the Creative Collaboration Project at PODI Ranch, just North of town.
Portal of Deeper Imagination (PODI) Ranch is a non-profit that provides rehearsal, workshop, and performance studios in exchange for Chore Duty Hours, developed as Dance Sequences and eventually presented with visuals and musical scoring.
