After much thought, a Farmer decided it had come time to pass on his Land Steward knowledge and legacy of fifty+ years to a young person. So, he reviewed the WWOOF (World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms) Charter Notes to see if he qualified. His farm is organic, he seeks community and global educational growth participation, and there is a clean, dry cabin for WWOOFer housing and abundant food. So far, so good.
Next, the Charter Notes explained, “Family communication and dynamic interactions are complex systems, and when introducing a WWOOFer, this system will change. Not all Farm Families are prepared to withstand the transformation that occurs when joining WWOOF. To learn more about your potential to become a WWOOF Farmer, consult with a local Story Mapping Guide for a Family System Map Assessment. If you accept the mapping terms, fill out an application, pay a membership fee, and we will get you started on finding the perfect WWOOFer for your farm.”
The Farmer clicked on the website link, found a local Guide, then gathered his family to ask if they were on board with the new direction.
The Wife expressed concern about a mapping assessment. ”I’ve never heard ot such a thing.”
