I met the Spoonman in a Port Townsend, WA, Food Bank Line shortly after the Covid pandemic hit. We started a good conversation based on a creative flow story share and note comparison experience. Last week, our discussion unfolded as follows:
Spoonman: “I know our community is getting sucked into regressive behaviors, but when I show up to Community Forums, they don’t want to deal with me.”
Cappy: “What do you mean they don’t want to deal with you?”
The Spoonman cocked his head. “Be honest. You know what I’m talking about. I’m too loud, and I come on too strong.” He went on to explain he had been diagnosed as Borderline and Bi-Polar, conditions affecting his ability to maintain an everyday conversation.
Cappy: “Yeah, I know what you mean! I discover a new perspective, and I get so excited. I’m convinced I will, finally, be heard. Finally, be heard.”
