Unlocking Bad Guy

The best place to engage with Inner Bad Guy is during Meltdown. First, I had to place markers at the Flashpoint Border, where I crossed into Blackout without awareness. Since my first access to Blackout came through alcohol, I trained in Mindful Drinking, taught by the well-known Buddhist Monk Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche. I gradually strengthened sustainable physical awareness of every sip, primarily focusing on maintaining the biceps facing forward. At long last, I identified Blackout Border without flashing across, and step by step, placed Markers through Blackout into Meltdown.

As I uncovered masked layers, I caught glimpses of Bad Guy, then finally sat down with him after endless hours of Judgment Scoop & Dump Dance. He has furtive eyes and fidgets in and out of focus, ready to disappear at the slightest hint of disdain. I learned he is a vital part of my Inner Realm, a long-maligned Persona deprived of respect. Once I recognized his exile paints a picture of dividing self from self. I put thought into strategy design for releasing him from his lonely role.

The superhero, Hulk, became an ally. His Meltdowns were emotionally triggered, and he never knew if he would have the ability to contain them cognitively or would become a meltdown tsunami. But he never suffered from Bad Guy Banishment. There was always empathy for his predicament; he learned to harness his suppressed rage. Inspired…
